Hi Paul! I work at AWeber, one of the alternatives listed in this article. If you are still looking for an alternative to Mailchimp, AWeber should be able to solve your problem here. Check out this reference on how to add additional information to your subscribers during the import process with AWeber (see step 5): https://help.aweber.com/hc/en-us/articles/204028626-How-Do-I-Import-A-List-Of-Subscribers-

OR check out this reference on how to edit your current subscribers information: https://help.aweber.com/hc/en-us/articles/205116828-How-Do-I-Edit-My-Subscriber-s-Information-.

As far as sharing your .ics calendar file, as long as it is under 1MB you should be able to attach it to your email message to subscribers.

If you have any other questions about AWeber, feel free to call our customer support at 877-293-2371.

For example, I can’t find any way to add non-email info to the contacts list – even manually. Does everyone just keep other info on that subscriber (e.g. phone number) someplace else? Who want duplicated entries? And, even more surprising, I can’t attach a teeny-tiny .ics file so subscribers can automatically add something to their calendar. I can’t be the only user who wants to send event info to subscribers! (I run a small non-profit club). Are there a services that provides these sorts of features?
